#theGAC WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Omolara Ogunmakinju, Jr., Harding, Akure, Nigeria
Competing in her first outdoor meet of the season, Ogunmakinju ran the second-fastest time in the 400-meter dash en route to winning the event at the Bryan Phillips Invitational by almost five seconds. Her time, 54.89 seconds, earned her an NCAA Provisional mark as it ranks 15th in Division II.
#theGAC WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jade Byrd, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Stratford, Oklahoma
Byrd earned an NCAA Provisional mark in the discus at the John Jacobs Collegiate Invitational. She finished second among non-Division II members with her top effort of 49.33 meters. The throw, the third-best of her career, ranks fifth in Division II. She added a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw.
